A Virtual Lunchtime Event.

Kathleen Rooney, author of “Lilian Boxfish Takes a Walk”, gives a presentation on the stories behind her latest historical novel, “Cher Ami and Major Whittlesey”, based on true events of the Battle of the Meuse-Argonne in 1918. She will discuss both the heroic pigeon and the courageous Army officer, and how these two once famous, but now mostly forgotten figures came to inspire her most recent book. There will be a $10 charge to attend this presentation. Please register at the link below to receive the Zoom link 24 hrs prior to this event.

Join us live on Zoom where we‘ll host local author, Vanessa Lin, who will be discussing the lessons she learned in resilience based on her newly published book "Falling Together: A Tale of Believing in Your Own Magic."

In her book, she shares a raw and honest exploration of her heart during the most difficult time of her life. Using her intuition and trust in a higher power, she propels herself into a place of true healing and magic, tapping into universal truths we can all learn from.

“In today’s challenging times, the world is in more need than ever before to tap into their inner well of creativity and find happiness. In order to live a magical life, we need to think differently and allow ourselves the space to tap into something greater. I’ll show you what I learned during my darkest hour, the hour that broke me open to new possibilities, to help you build your own resilience and reclaim your magic in 2020.”

Join us for the November Membership meeting where we will approve the slate of members of the Governance Committee. The revised Bylaws established a Governance Committee with expanded duties of the old Nominations Committee. Besides recruiting and slating members for the Board of Directors for the April Membership meeting, Governance will help orient and train the Board of Directors in board best practices and regularly review the WCW‘s Bylaws. Meetings will generally be held monthly, and on an ad hoc basis more frequently as needed.
