What is this?
Please join us at 6:30 pm, on Thursday, January 19 th , to discuss Horse by Geraldine Brooks, the Pulitzer Prize winning author of March. Based on the true story of the record-breaking thoroughbred, Lexington, it is a story spanning two centuries, from Kentucky of the 1850s, to the New York art scene of the 1950s, to Washington DC in 2019. It is a story of race, art, love, history, slavery, and horse racing.
“A discarded painting in a junk pile, a skeleton in an attic, and the greatest racehorse in American history: from these strands, a Pulitzer Prize winner braids a sweeping story of spirit, obsession and injustice across American history.” -- Good Reads
Come laugh, learn, and discuss it all on Thursday, January 19th at 6:30 pm.
